Traditionally, classic tacky rubbers have been mainly favored by Asian players. However, more and more players outside of Asia are becoming interested in these rubbers, as they can generate a high amount of spin even at lower swing speeds.

Tacky rubbers create spin through the direct contact between the topsheet and the ball, gripping it momentarily after absorbing the incoming energy. Non-tacky rubbers, on the other hand, generate spin through the ball sinking into the highly elastic sponge, with TENSOR technology further enhancing this effect. However, due to their strong rebound power, passive play can often be difficult to control.
